Alejandro Galvez Cruz provides sexuality education to migrant workers. He used information learned in the UMSHCP to design a traveling ‘sex fair’—providing sexuality education from camp to camp every year.
Lynn Wang is a gynecologist, sexuality counselor and educator. She has used her UMSHCP experience to integrate sexuality counseling into her healthcare system, and create a female sexual medicine rotation for OBGYN residents.
Heather Alberda works for a public health department. She created the ‘Wear One’ campaign for condom distribution. With others, she’s developed a mobile sex education unit: ‘The Love Bus: Sex Ed On The Move’. She travels to places where the adolescents congregate and sets up the bus.
Treslyn Tolbert, a social worker for the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Charleston, focused her UMSHCP training to enhance her care for service members and their partners in the Medical Family Practice clinic, providing sex therapy for all types of sexual issues including post deployment re-adjustment.
Todd Malloy, a sex therapist, convinced his local Developmental Disability Network to rethink sexuality education and counseling for persons with developmental disability. He now provides training, education, and therapy.
Vic Hola, a nurse in a cancer center, used his UMSHCP to further the counseling he gives to prostate cancer survivors and their partners.
Velma Valentine, a psychotherapist in a counseling center, focused her UMSHCP training on sex therapy and counseling for trans-persons.
